Please check out my link to the Kenya Baby Center at the right of my blog for an urgent prayer request for Kenya and the Center.
Thank you to all of you prayer warriors.

At church this morning, Terry Bley came forward at the end of the service and reported that he had just received a text message from Margie Helmuth. Margie is an American missionary who is working in Nakuru, Kenya as an account from World Mission Network (I believe, I apologize if this is wrong). She works closely with the baby center as well. She text Terry asking for prayer for Nakuru, the baby center, and Kenya. The violence continues. As she was texting, she said she could hear gun shots in town close to her home, she could also see smoke from burning homes outside her window. As of this morning- the baby center has been without power for two days. They are also quickly running out of water and petroleum. This is a very big problem for a place that shelters, feeds, and bathes 29 little babies. Please pray for the safety of each and every baby, employee, missionary, and citizen of Nakuru and Kenya as a whole.
Our little vacation together to visit both of our grandparents is much needed and will be a great break away from this snow and cold of Indiana! We leave in about two and a half weeks. I'm not exactly looking forward to getting back on a plane or even back in an airport, but if it takes me to warmer weather - I'm In!
This weekend, Mike and I went with his family to Michigan for his Dad's birthday. We went to a couple wineries and I enjoyed learning about all the different kinds of wine. We then went to Four Winds Casino. We enjoyed the buffet, and even though Mike and I don't gamble, we enjoyed walking around and checking out all the shops and people-watching. We did do the penny slots for awhile, but as I was sitting there watching the guy beside me put $50 at a time into the machine, I couldn't help but think about all the money that was going into a casino. I kept thinking "all of this money could be going to Kenya.." It disgusted me to the point that I felt sick. Now don't get me wrong - I have no problem with anyone who wants to casually gamble. I do though have a problem with the people who go every weekend and blow their paychecks on a chance of winning. Just my opinion though. It was just hard to watch after spending 12 days in a place where they could use just a fraction of that money so badly.
