Spring?

It feels like Spring today!! Which puts a spring in my step and a smile on my face! I have the heat turned off, the windows and sliding glass door open. I love the breeze coming into our small apartment. It just puts me in such a better mood when the weather cooperates! It smells like Spring and that's one of my favorite smells! Mike and I have Comcast and we were messing around with all the features the other day (Mike's had comcast for about 9 months now, but never new some of the features existed!), and we found Biggest Loser workouts for free! I did two today and it felt great to be active, even if I had to do them inside. With the sliding glass door open it felt like I was outside. I'm hoping that I can keep up with these workouts daily and really lose some weight. I've never been a big fan of making weight loss public like this, but hopefully I will feel some accountability.

Spring brings so many new and great possibilities. Mike and I have found what apartment we'll be living in when our lease ends here. I'm excited because we'll actually have a washer and dryer IN our apartment! No more laundry mat for me! We have really fallen in love with our new church. We've met some great people that we look forward to getting to know better in the coming year. All in all, my attitude is much better about Merrillville being my "home". I'm hoping that with this sunny weather, my attitude will stay optimistic as well.

Clouds

I've been doing some "searching" the last few days. Mike and I have been looking for the right fit for us in a church. We've been desperately wanting to connect with couples in our age group on a spiritual level. I've been doing some reading in Mark and also Revelation. Yesterday I came across a verse that I've never read before. It didn't so much make me think about finding a church home or connecting with others, but about obtaining a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A best friend relationship. Physical relationships will come in time. But we need to find the kind of relationship we're seeking in Christ first. I was reading in Revelation about how in the Bible clouds are always associated with God. Clouds are viewed as the sorrows, sufferings, or circumstances, within our personal lives. I realized that if there were never any "clouds" in our lives, we would have no faith. In Nahum 1:3 it says "The clouds are the dust of His feet." They are a sign that God is there! What a great feeling to know that our sorrows, problems, and grief are actually the clouds that come along with God! "He does not come in clear-shining brightness" says Oswald Chambers. Revelation 1:7 says "Behold, He is coming with clouds...".

Something to think over today as we have so many burdens in our lives.

25 Random Facts...

I did this on facebook and I thought I would put it on here too. Just something to pass the time...
25 random things about me!

1. I still remember the scariest dream I ever had as a child, even though I've never had it again.
2. My ultimate dream would be for my husband and I to own our own restaurant.
3. I want to adopt a baby boy from Kenya. (Maybe someday they'll have open adoption!)
4. I think of Hesston every single day.
5. Mike and I eat at Chipotle at least once a week.
6. Organizing brings serious satisfaction to my soul. Although sometimes I don't always seem organized.
7. My strongest desire currently is to be pregnant. But all of the realities of life are saying a big fat NO. (don't worry mom, we're waiting).
8. I love really windy days. It makes me smile to stand outside and feel the wind blow.
9. My husband still gives me butterflies.
10. I'm clumsy.
11. I kick myself a lot for not playing softball at Hesston.
12. I wish I would have majored in Nursing. (i wish i was smart enough to major in nursing).
13. I secretly loved waitressing at Amish Acres, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
14. I shed at least one tear almost everyday. Even if nothing is wrong.
15. I married into a wonderful family! I feel as if I've known them my whole life.
16. I'm so blessed with two of the most forgiving parents.
17. I love my extended family. My cousins are some of my best friends.
18. I have a little case of OCD.
19. I love grocery shopping.
20. I broke my rib my freshman year of high school during Powder puff football.
21. Large dogs tend to scare me. Always have.
22. I love love going out to eat. I think it's a social and cultural experience.
23. Everyone says "no regrets", but I've never quite been able to live my life that way. I'll always regret some things.
24. I've never had a single cavity.
25. I don't have a single artistic bone in my body - but I really wish that I did.

Historical

Though I don't agree with all of President Obama's policies and opinions, I will pray for him. I need to remember that God is in control of this country, not the President. I appreciate President Obama's policy of change, and his enthusiasm. I respect him as a father and husband. And I pray that I will respect him as a president in his first term. Prayer is the most powerful thing we can do for this new leader.
