Old Days.

Last night I spent the night at my parent's house since we got back from Florida so late. This morning I woke up and saw a few pictures on my wall that my mom hung up. These have been hanging up for awhile, but I've never taken the time to really look at them. Well I found two old pictures of Dustin Shaw and I. They are just so cute and it's fun to remember how much we used to hang out. The Shaw's are a second family to me basically. Here's the pictures along with a picture of us from my wedding.
The first two pictures are us in Florida. We were maybe 5 and 6 in the first one? And in the second one we were 13 and 14. I remember taking the second one, because we REALLY put up a fight when it came to taking it. We were at the age where it just wasn't "cool". Ha.

Back.

I'm back from Florida. I think I'm getting too old for those kind of road trips. I'm completely exhausted!! We got home at about 2:15 this morning. I need a day to re-coop. But it's not going to happen since I have to get back to Merrillville, then a few awesome girls are coming to spend the night tonight. I've been looking forward to this for over a month! It's just a lot with little sleep!

Our trip to Florida went well. Mike's grandma's test results came back on Tuesday and the cancer is only in her uterus. That was a blessing, because it hadn't spread and it's a more routine surgery. Keep her in your prayers as she undergoes this surgery on May 4th and also during her recovery.
Overall, it was a great time to get to know the other women in my husband's life! A week with my niece is always fun too. She's a great traveler! Who knew at 4 months you could do so well!? She experienced swimming for the first time too, and she loved it! She couldn't stop giggling. It was so cute. Here are some pics from our trip.

Have a great weekend.

Vacation?

I question the title of this blog, because I'm not sure if I can call this a vacation or not. But in about three hours I'm leaving for Florida with Mike's mom, sister, and our niece. The women of the Marshall family are headed south to spend some time with Mike's grandparents. His grandma is going through a lot of testing and doctor's appointments right now and Mike's mom would like to be with her as she goes through that this week. She has cancer, and they are finding out this week if it has spread and/or if she can endure a surgery. Prayer would be great for her and our travels tomorrow. We're driving straight though ... with a four month old :) So it will be interesting!! I'm up for the task and am looking forward to the bonding that will occur for all of us. I haven't had time with just Mike's mom and his sister since we got married. And time with our precious niece is always a blessing!!

Easter and Family

Not much to report to my few and faithful readers (mostly my mom..).

We have been blessed with visitors in the last few weeks. Corey, Foz, and Jill have came to visit a couple times and it's been so great to have them in our little world in Merrillville. It makes it feel more like home when we can entertain and enjoy each other's company.

My parents came to Merrillville to visit our new church with us. Unfortunately, Mike had to work, but I went with them to the Saturday evening service. It was great to have them there and welcome them into our church family. They were also able to meet some of our new friends. I hope they enjoyed themselves as much as I enjoyed having them.

Mike and I are excited to spend the day tomorrow with his family. Any day that we get to spend with our niece is a day that we THOROUGHLY look forward to. :) She's just perfect.

I was able to spend some quality time with my brother tonight -- I sometimes forget how old he is getting. I loved spending time with him and getting to know him all over again.

Happy Easter Everyone.
